Summary
A man at the end of his life thinks about the present. With thick red wool, he traces a path through the meanders of his past, finding only ruins, vestiges, and fragments. Memories appear to him like flashes, which he strives to bring back to the present. How can he piece things together and attempt to reconstruct his identity from these mere fragments of recollection?
